I’ve kept quiet on this issue since nice he was a commit, but since he’s not now I will say this. Here in San Antonio, we have a long history of not having big time QB recruits. I say this because I have seen him a few times and thought that there isn’t much there and I can remember lots of QBs who I thought were better over all players than him. I was left underwhelmed ever time I saw him. I would have supported him if he showed up as with any other player but, honestly i wasn’t expecting much from him.

Because we don't give hardly any nil money
I don't mean to be the Negative Nancy as of late, but the "old money" is not in-line with athletics leadership and leadership/Flying T is relying on 30s/40s/50s year olds. CDC, like him or hate him, had a way to finesse everyone, regardless of age, to do the masterpieces he did while here. Current leadership alienated a large portion of our big money, which is evident by the stalemate in facility and NIL development, and the scandals mentioned in the other thread.

No way he stays committed if he’s heading to IMG to finish out his high school playing.

Last I heard Flying T had around $3-4 million in nil warchest. But agree it seems mostly 40-50 yr olds giving $2k-$20k and we don’t have the 70 yr old tycoons on board giving $500k. I’m curious how this compares to SMU, Tech, Baylor, etc. Appreciate the guys who founded FlyingT and put in all the work to run it. If not for them, we’d be behind NIL. I’m curious if all these schools basically had fans take on the responsibility of nil clubs?
