It is insane. Looks like the HS kids are being offered more than the proven players. Maybe it’s the years of eligibility left. It’s also a foreboding indicator as to how hard it will be for TCU to compete at top 12 levels going forward.
I agree, except Bryce Underwood is not a good example.
Bryce is a day 1 starter. He has Savion’s body/wheels, and Vince Young’s arm.
I can see why ridiculous money is being offered by his home college team.

I don’t know, there have been a lot of 5 stars recently that have started right away yet have lines like 9-17-98 and a pick. Looking at DJ Lagway….

He’s not the only one that is like that, Dylan Raiiola just had 27-38 game. Looks good until you see that only resulted in 191 yards and 2 picks against the vaunted USC defense.

The transfer portal is already filling up with talent.

It is tough for most freshmen to step up & be really successful in the first year.
Lagway didnt even get his 1st start until the 7th game, as he’s been playing behind Mertz who is a 6th year senior and was a high 4 star recruit.
Even with a hamstring injury, Lagway out performed Nussmeier to beat LSU, which is the only reason Napier is still employed. Lagway is doing pretty well with near 60% passing and an 11 yd avg per attempt. He is now 2-2 as a starter.
Now that Mertz is out for the season, maybe Lagway can develop a bit.

Raiola was great earlier in the season, but something changed in his head, and he is now throwing interceptions like a machine with 7 in the last 4 games (losses). He only had 3 INTs in the first 6 games.
Similar to Hoover, if he doesn’t throw interceptions, he usually wins.

New ESPN rankings out ...Frogs up to 24 highest rated Big 12 school,(K-State is 30)

24. TCU Horned Frogs

ESPN 300 commits: 4
Top offensive prospect: WR Terry Shelton
Top defensive prospect: DE Chad Woodfork

Previous ranking: 27
The Horned Frogs made a run to the national title in 2022 and are looking to infuse more talent in hopes of sparking another ascension. They added some potential productive receiving targets in Ed Small, who displays strong ball skills, and Chance Ables, who has good length and body control to adjust. A key add at receiver during the fall was Terry Shelton, who is also a talented high school basketball player and can be a tall target with the ability to high point the ball and win contested matchups. RB Jon Denman runs with power and determination to be effective between the tackles, but also has good speed when gets to the perimeter having posted a sub-11 second 100-meter time. TCU lost a QB commit over the summer but quickly rebounded by flipping Adam Schobel from Oklahoma State. A prospect with family ties to the program, he gives the Frogs a passer with consistent mechanics and good touch. He has thrown for over 2,000 yards each of his first three high school seasons.

On defense, the Frogs have added some talented pieces to their front. Chad Woodfork was a big in-state win and is an explosive defender, while Jared Martin was an excellent addition out of California as he possesses good initial quickness and can bend well and both can not only get after the QB but can be well-rounded defenders. From in state, defensive tackle Floyd Guidry can use good initial quickness and leverage to be disruptive.

Big visitor

Cole would be a great add. This is an official visit after he already made an unofficial during the OSU game, so this will likely happen. He is just one of 3 Jucos visiting this weekend.

If you haven't seen it, google Coles high school film and it is pretty interesting watching a 250+ lber playing stand up DE and even some LB. That wouldn't be his future with the Frogs, but it does show the type of athletic ability he brings to the interior d-line.

Looks like a mega billionaire forked over the cash to turn Underwood blue. Ellison has no personal connections to Michigan but apparently his wife went there, and now he’s donated $50m to the football program. Which got me thinking is Bill Gates still dating the Baylor grad?!?
