2022 Recruiting Thread

GP has a very great eye for talent that meets the needs to do what he needs them to do... with 2-3*s too. As much or more than anyone else in the country.

no - that worked in the MWC, doesn’t work in the big 12 when OU is stacked with 4 and 5 stars

You do realize... since the frogs entered the B12 in 2012 .... that they've finished in the top 10 three times and UT once, with a quarter of the 4-5 star UT recruits(plus the frogs never had a 5 star recruit until 2020)..?..

OU is the measuring stick. We’ve beaten them once.

and GP scores in garbage time against them to make it look close - but it really hasn’t been too close since Riley got there

we struggle enough with WVU and Tech

I was replying to your "doesn't work in the big 12" comment...
TCU only B12 team since 2012 to finish top10, 3 times, besides OU.
ISU once/UT once/Baylor once/OSU once ...
Most 4-5* kids are BIG stadium wanna be kids...
So, we'll probly never average over 4-5 four*(much less 5*) recruits....
This is why GP's skill on talent evaluation is so important.

we haven’t finished top 10 in the past 3 seasons and obviously won’t be this year.

GP’s skill on talent evaluation only applies to the defense.

we have middle of the road talent (at best) for OL and QB recruiting.

We have recruited (wasted scholarships) on at least 10 QBs in the past 9 years who could not play at P5 level (excluding Baldwin and Rogers injuries)

  1. Tyler Matthews
  2. Austin Aune (University of North Texas now after baseball)
  3. Zach Allen
  4. Mule
  5. Foster
  6. Wooten
  7. Robinson
  8. Alex Delton
  9. Downing
  10. Eli Williams
  11. Stephon Brown

That's really your argument .... what a knucklehead. 3 times in the last 9 years, but not in the last 3 years.?. Plus this team is not out of the question of a top 10, though not probable... as not probable for 110 other teams.... but ours much better than the great majority, not doubt.
