Also, if anyone thinks any of these local companies giving money to kids who 99.99% of the population has never heard of has anything to do with marketing then guess again. They don't give a [ #2020 ] about how much business these guys bring in any more than a Norman car dealership cares how many cars the Sooner QB sells for them. ROI is a non factor.

I'm sure some money from boosters that would otherwise go to the athletic department will instead go straight into the pockets of 18-21 year olds.

That’s where the real kicker is. If a University wants to pay players/recruits, all they need to do is reduce costs to those boosters to fund the difference.

Or it’s even easier for them to do it now vs handing envelopes of cash or bags of casino chips and it won’t impact budgets at all.

SMU’s 2022 class is now ranked 48 while we’re at 79

would need some pretty stellar recruits to boost our recruit average or class rank
Firstly, they have twice the # recruits now and there is going to be a lot of flipping going around over the next several months, while plenty of quality players still undecided.
