TE recruiting is getting tricky for this staff and getting in the top 10 for Blake Smith was finally some welcome news. Jalin Conyers (Gruver) has released his top 6 which omitted TCU (and Texas). Still bit of a longshot on Smith though he has been strong on the coaching staff and developing offense.

Another name to follow is a JUCO TE:

Luke Stillwell TE 6-4/225 Kilgore College (formarly QB and Denton Guyer, biggest offer to-date is Colorado but TCU may jump into the mix soon.

That and actually including TE in the game plan from week to week.

Hard to pitch a top tier TE when you’ve only produced about 20 catches at the position over the last 5 years....These kids are smarter than that...Having said that, I think this year we see that become a focus in this years offense. Cumbie and GP have seen enough H-Backs and TEs wear them out over the last years and they know they need a TE to help give these inexperienced QBs some help.....Oddly enough Ive been advocating for a long time that they utilize Sewo some in a few H-Back/TE rolls in order to get he and Anderson on the field together every now and then.

Seems a bit undersized but his hands look pretty good..

solid academic offers, servite plays a very tough schedule, and on the film he shows some positive things working the underneath routes and catching the ball.

might not be an elite athlete, but he could fill a role frogs don't currently have in their offense

Pretty sure Conyers is going to Tech.

Until we actually utilize our TEs I don’t see one reason why a decent one would look at us.

Definitely understandable. issue is it is a little bit of a two-way street, don't have the reliable pass-catching TE so you don't utilize the position.

Thing is the staff has worked hard the past few years to bring in some top talent only to just miss. Pro Wells injury issues really hurt last season and Lynn can be a talent if he keeps his head straight (and feet on the ground).

Wells is a soph and Lynn a junior. If one of them shows the potential for utilizing the position, then if we don't land one this year, hopefully the juco route or transfer portal will produce a talent. Doesn't look too good for this class right now.
