Norrie wins opening round US Open match. Next match is against world no 62 out of Serbia, Dusan Lajovic. If he can get through that one, brings in a potential matchup with top American John Isner.

Interesting note - Norrie’s next opponent, Lajovic, is also his next opponent in doubles. In the course of two days he will play the same guy twice... very rare set of circumstances

There is also a future Frog set to play tomorrow. 2019 commit Jenson Brooksby - the 2nd ranked recruit in the nation - just won the USTA junior national tournament in Kalamazoo and earned automatic qualification to the Open. The #1 seed in that tournament is a name college tennis fans will recognize... A&M's freshman #1 Patrick Kypson, who was also the defending champ. Brooksby beat the top recruit in the finals, Brandon Nakashima. He also beat Nakashima earlier this year en route to winning the prestigious Easter Bowl. I was one to complain about the past few years of recruiting, but this is obviously a big-time get for our staff.
