I’m afraid he’ll need to take Lincoln Riley with him.
I think Patterson just needs to figure out how to cover the TE and QB at the same time... Joking and serious. Lincoln has just been lucky the last few years due to QB talent and Patterson not able to scheme enough around covering the TE. The OU TE play has killed us on third downs.

He’s at 250 passing and 100 rushing right now. With his best WR and RB hurt. Against Alabama.

What I see is his main weapon is his quickness and ability to escape pressure, and that weapon would be drastically minimized in the NFL. I just don’t see his game translating that well at all. Just too dang tiny.

Odds are equally against him being a starting QB in the nfl. Maybe more so.
Yes but a back up qb is still in the nfl and getting paid like a nfl player

A triple A baseball player is not getting paid like a major leaguer, even one that rides the pine

The fact that there is no minor league in the NFL is the difference

So, considering what's happened the last two times they were given the opportunity to play for it all, what are the chances we as a culture can just agree Notre Dame's glory days are in the distant past and are not going to return?

What's that you say? No chance at all and they'll still be given every conceivable advantage and the benefit of every doubt? Yep, that's what I thought.

This Alabama team wouldn’t win a single game in an NFL season. Probably wouldn’t get within 3 scores of anyone.

Lol, no.

The NFL has become soft with too many old players. The salary cap and free agency have destroyed the quality of play. Plus they hardly have full contact practices so NFL teams can’t tackle anymore.

This Alabama team would be a mediocre NFL team, meaning they’d win the NFC East.

Again, if you're being serious, the ultimate answer is very easy. What percentage of Alabama's players are going to actually be NFL players? 15%, 20%, 30%? Pick your number. They would be playing a team where 100% of the players are NFL players.

Let's say you give Alabama a month of unlimited practices and prep time and they play the Dallas Cowboys. What do you think the score would be?

Alabama has had 22 players drafted in the past 2 years.

You’re high if you think KM is getting Tom Brady money after 3 years

For one, Brady has a very team-friendly contract. He's left a lot of money on the table so money can be spent elsewhere.

Two, have you been paying attention to QB salaries? The 49s gave Jimmy G 5 and 137 last year based off the fact that he has a pulse! He's making something like 42 this year. Matt Stafford, 26M. Derek Carr, 25M. Joe Flacco's getting paid almost 25M to sit the damn bench. Hell, Cincy is paying AD 16M to spare it up all over the field. Project that out 3-4 years as the cap increases and he's between 20 and 30M annually. When Baker comes up for renewal he may very well get 5 and 200.

You know there's about a hundred players on the team, right? So Bama is just gonna beat an NFL team with the equivalent of 80-90% undrafted free agents?

You do know that only 11 players are allowed on the field at once?

You do know that those 100 players have up to five years of eligibility?

So if you go back 5 years, Alabama has had about 44 players drafted. This doesn’t even include their free agent picks.

There are probably close to 53 players on Alabama’s roster right now who will make it to the NFL.

They could field a competitive NFL team.

Mayfield got around $30 million over 4 years as the #1 pick

he is not a first round pick IMO. Better QBs out there (pro style) and many OL and DL that will go before Murray in the draft. He doesn’t fit many NFL schemes. Not sure why everyone is so hot to trot on him.
Our opinions don't matter. It sounds like he is very likely to be a first round pick, maybe even top 12-15. It really doesn't matter how good we think he will be or even how good he actually will be. It just takes one NFL GM or ownerto be convinced.
