I’m guessing he doesn’t play much. But by being ‘back’ it frees us up to pinch hit or play Goodloe somewhere and not be worried about unplanned emergency catcher playing late in a game.
Prior to Spenrath finally hitting like he did at Cisco, I would have argued Petrie and Byrne combine for catcher and DH somehow. Now I don’t think Petrie plays much on weekends
Petrie isn't much of a hitter. At Washington State he had a .236 career average.

Latest rankings.

We went on the road and won a series against #3 and moved up from 21 to 20? Sitting on top of the Big 12 standings but 4th among Big 12 teams in the poll is certainly a take.

Plenty of time left. This is a particular week of big opportunity with DBU and the trip to Tallahassee.

Need to go 2-2 this week. 3-1 or better would be remarkable.

Generally agree. Not sure about “need” except to the extent it’s always good to keep winning and this team can win its way into hosting. Mostly want to see a W at home Tuesday for RPI reasons. 1-2 is good enough in Tallahassee then anything more is gravy.
Agree. And that scenario keeps us even on the Q1 ratio for the time being.

Well this weekend could be very interesting. It was about this time last year when the Frogs learned they were virtually helpless against lefties with quality off speed stuff. We’ll now see if the Frogs have improved in that aspect because gonna see two such starters and at least one from the pen this weekend.

Didn’t do much against DBU’s Sherlin in four combined innings and he’s nowhere near the caliber we’ll see on Friday and Saturday.

Getting flashbacks of that Coastal Carolina pitcher.
