You keep talking out your rectum!
In 2021 Max was better than most in several categories via Big12.com ...

1) Had the 4th best TD/Int ratio16/6 ...
2) Total passing yards 6th(tho only played in 10 games) ...
3) Tied for 2nd YPA(9.0) of all passers with 1,000 yards+
4) 5th in yards per game ...
5) 2nd in efficiency on both ESPN and Big12.com sites.

The Frogs finished 5th in passing offense ...
And 3rd in rushing offense(can presume Max played a big role in that)
Defense was the primary problem, ranked 9th when GP left and end of 2021.
So Max had very little to do with the 5-7 losing season.
Max was actually tied for 10th nationally in YPA. Hard to do that not throwing with some success down field.

Look, not trying to start a fight, but these numbers look positively mediocre, and combined with a bad defense could easily land and school with a 5-7 record.
There is no fight ... MAX simply had the 2nd best efficiency in the Big12... the data provided in post 274 above to counter Ticket's(Tic) demeaning remarks on Max...

Do you understand what YPA is? It’s just yards per attempt.

Our offense has historically been handicapped by the inability to connect on deep passes and defenses stacking the box as a result

Max throws a ton of deep balls to QJ…really means nothing. He missed a ton of deep balls last year too.

Please stop your dufus(or doofus...lol!) posts ... you just contradicted yourself again. If Max missed a ton of deep balls last year... those passes would count for ZERO yards for those attempts, therefore counting against his high rank of YPA in the Big12 and Nationally.

No I thought it was a type of craft beer similar to an IPA.

Actually you apparently don't understand what it is. It is total passing yardage divided by attempts. Explain how incomplete passes can raise this stat.

Max throws short routes and deep 50-50 balls to QJ. It averages out to a higher number despite his inability to hit throws between 15-25 yards

The short routes are boosted by YAC and QJ’s insane ability also helps pad the stats

Does it make sense that a category where duggan is at Matt Corral and Caleb Williams level might be prone to less rational rankings?

If so, then Duggan is clearly a first round QB pick and should declare this year. Or he’s actually QB3 on our team if he stays for the fall

Exactly. Heisman contending 1st round talent or 3rd string QB are literally the only 2 options. There is no middle ground whatsoever.

People in this thread are implying he’s somewhere near a top 10 QB in the country

He will not be the starter at TCU next year barring injury. Fact.

It’s beyond weird that people defend a QB that has never gone better than 7-5 (injuries, OL, defense pick your “other”
excuse)

Seriously, did he scheiss your wife or something? We get it, you think Max sucks. Many others (me included) see he certainly has faults but lays his guts out there every play and appreciate the effort. If the coaches decide he is the best option, then we roll with that. If not, ok. But we don’t get to make those decisions.

I've come to wonder if you wake up every morning intending to say something completely asinine or if it just happens naturally when your fingers get moving.

Hmmm, Tic, you're a hopeless Troll... ESPN has Max with #12 highest QB rating of the top 100 QBs with at least 1,500 yards...
Actually in 2021 QJ ranked 14th YPC(very good). So... who helped who, with a 12th rated QB; each did. But you know better...

At DT... wonder if either Cooper Bethley or Ellis lll can exercise another Covid year. If none another year, then we only have Misi Sorrels and the HS recruit Williams in house. Gotta get some big help there.
I’m pretty sure Ellis said he is coming back next year. He hasn’t ever done much though. Maybe the new scheme will help him out.

Great comment, adds a lot to the forum and discussion

You must enjoy 5-7 seasons
Nobody does, but you basically put all the blame for that on one player. In reading your posts, you'd think if we had a good QB we'd have been at worst 9-3, and probably 10-2 or 11-1.

Did you see our defense this year? Look at the defensive ratings and stats and compare them to any statistics from the QB, relative to the competition. It's clear what the primary problem with this team was but I'm sure you'll gloss over that and just focus on MD.
