I am not the biggest fan of this hire, mainly because I think we should remain a defensive first program and continue for that to be our identity. This season showed how important a good defense is. It's painful to watch us not be able to stop anything.

When was last time TCU was a Defensive first team? Certainly not this season.

Dykes isn’t some splash hire, but he is a really good hire and seemingly putting some exceptional pieces in place.

There’s a lot to be excited about imo.

The staff he’s surrounding himself with is the exciting part. Recruiting getting ready to be a whole lot of fun.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you’re either not paying attention or not informed enough to know the difference if you aren’t excited by the staff he’s putting together. DC needs to be a good hire, will be a big final pieces.

Best case scenario, he's a new face in the conference and catches the other coaching staff off guard his first year. Maybe gets into the big 12 title game even.

Of course he was a new face in the Pac-12 and proceeded to win 1 game.

Our team is at rock bottom, only way to go is up from here. Any coach can come in and at minimum miss a bowl game (exact same of where we are now). I’m excited for the future

I’m guessing that he already knows who the DC is and is waiting to announce it until his team is done (or at least regular season is done). Just a hunch.
