I don't expect to know the truth on this any time soon. There's no reason to play James against UVA or SMU.
If we can't beat those two teams with our defense, passing attack, and Tucker, then we're going 0-5 down the stretch and we might as well hold James until next year.
Now if Tucker and Dean step up, and we get to 7-0, if James can get healthy then we play him and make a title run. Otherwise it's just not worth losing him for next year when we'll need him even more.

Sorry. Didn't see the post. I just find it highly unlikely that Patterson would tell us that Waymon is day-to-day and he actually has a torn ACL. That's a huge jump. I'll believe it when I see it.

Disagree with everyone thinking our offense doesn't change much... No James = 10% more passing. I see a 70 - 30% split if this happens.

While I'm not holding my breath for Aundre Dean to step up, we haven't seen enough of him (i.e. sustained carries, several in a series) to write him off. WJ is a truly special player, but Dean may be able to gash defenses for 4-5 ypc in tandem with Tucker. We shall see.
Patterson also mentioned in his press conference the possibility, however remote, of Boykin filling in. Not sure what I think of that.

Just another wrinkle... Patterson is not only known for taking RBs and making them LBs, but now he is taking 10 guys and making them play like 11. I'm looking forward to the 4-2-4
