Depth Chart discussion

Thought that was Shawn Robinson heading out in play action.
So THAT'S why Shawn dropped from 5 star to 3 star after an undefeated state title run and being POTY in Texas. Massive weight gain, most likely due to a Cold Stone Creamery addiction. I guess those recruiting services really do know their stuff.

My surprise is that after talking about need for more size on interior you have 1st/2nd DT on one side listed at 270 with Broadnax and Blacklock at over 300 listed on the other side. Is this simply a case of they'll play their top 3 or 4 DTs or will they have only one 300 lb DT on the field at a time?

Normally there is a bull and quick DT ... though the opponent and on occasion the down will help determine the play in the middle, if we can get them on the filed in time.

Like Asleep said, they're different positions: A 3-technique (Bradley) and a 1-technique (Blacklock). 3-techniques need to be a little quicker so they can shoot gaps and rush the passer, 1-techniques need to be stouter so they can occupy doubles teams and free up the other DL and LBs.

And of course throughout the game a scheme change, game situation, or simple rotation could get 2 smaller or 2 bigger bodies out there at the same time.

Unbelievably the '17 class is already surpassing their high expectations. We'll see what happens when they get on the field, but it's pretty incredible that so many guys have already earned their way onto the depth chart.

Guys like Robinson, Reagor, and Corey Bethley could be studs.

Less heralded guys like Kerry Johnson, Keenan Reed, Michael Epley, Dennis Collins, George Ellis, Garrett Wallow, and Brandon Ritchie could all see the field this year in significant ways.

And guys like Manning, Van Zandt, Harris, Daniels, and Snell have serious potential to be major contributors in the future.

Extremely encouraging to see so many guys making an impression this early. Going to be a blast seeing them lead the frogs into the future.

Must have missed out on Cordel Iwuagwu. Recall seeing him listed at 318 starting at LG following Spring. What is his status on the team presently?

Though he is on the roster, haven't heard anything about Ezra Tu'ua. Any word on him? Thought for sure he was going to be a good addition to the team.
