Wow. This team is …….

Well, we got the win, and that’s worth an ice-cold cheers, but let’s be honest—our game was a bit of a mess. Even with the boneheaded plays, I’ve got no doubt that these men will regroup and come back stronger. With their grit and spirit, they’ll tackle those mistakes head-on and show the world what Horned Frog Fight really means.

Meh, I'm usually overly optimistic but I really like this team. Saw a lot of good things and we can improve on a lot. That game could have easily been 34-3 with some better mental decisions
Agreed. If they can clean up the penalties then this game wouldn’t have been close. Redzone still needs a lot of work. Still don’t understand why we brought in a 235 lbs RB/FB, made specific packages for him in fall camp, then never used him.

Also, why was Hejny out there???

There is lots to clean up and I am not sure our coaches cand do that. But the bright spot for me was the final 6:57 of the game. Stanford takes a 27-24 lead and it looks like our Frogs are folding again. Thankfully, we did not do that this time. Unlike CU and many other frustrating losses last year, our Frogs made the winning plays.

Down 3, TCU drives down for a TD to take the lead.

Stop the Trees on downs.

Drive down and score a TD to seal the deal.

Make the winning plays. TCU did that tonight. But we were very lucky to play a bad team. We almost gave it to them with turnovers, stupid penalties and a loss of focus. There is a lot to be concerned about, but you gotta love our mental toughness to pull out the W.

Hejny played bc that is the plan for 2024: to spot him on at least one or two drives per game. There are specific plays/packages in the offense designed for him

The real messy parts of this game can be easily "cleaned up"! It was a good place to start the year. Defensively .. stupid penalties kept Stanford in the game. Very easy to correct those . On a BIG upside... more TFL/Sacks than we have seen in a game in two years !!!!! Red Zone offense needs some work, but the tools to correct those red zone mistakes are there. Like most of you .. I agree that there is a lot to be frustrated about ...... but it is the FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON & there is a lot be optimist about as well. GO FROGS!

Dreaded west coast late game plus our season opener. Lucky to win.

Make a few corrections and watch out.

All the messiness, the penalties, etc. were bad for sure. We will see if these guys have the control to not let the happen. again.

So many of the fouls were ticky-tacky and the announcers kept saying the officials were calling the game close because it was the first game and perhaps was an emphasis of the NCAA this year. Watch the highlights of the Michigan State and say that. Many times, MSU pulled serious crap and was never called for it. I see that move (albeit stupid and should be called) that got Camera his call all the time in college ball. OK, start calling it, but keep calling it for everyone.

The run game needs work and ball security needs to be shored up. Luckilyjust fumbles happened with no interception.

On the good side, Hoover looked really sharp and accurate. The ball gets out of his hands in a hurry. A lot of dropped passes. Hover threw very few bad passes. Don;t want him to get hurt, but Hoover could run the ball a little more. Stanford's, QB runs were huge (30% of the entire offense, 72% of the run game). We still had about 160 more yards than they did despite all the dropped passes, penalties and fumbles.

The penalties should be taken care of, as well as the fumbles. It would have been a TCU blowout without those.

You have two diamonds in QBs and don’t want to lose either. So you must insert both where possible.
