Right before the end of OSU/Michigan game, did anybody here the official announce the penalty against Michigan player as "impersonating the use of a firearm" Never heard of that one.
It's normally announced as "simulating brandishing a weapon", but yes it is fairly common now.

I don't think Colorado can make the CG unless two of the other 2-loss teams lose. So I think your scenario is an impossibility.

BYU has the best case based on their win over SMU but they might be the worst team right now of the four teams tied for 1st place. Iowa State probably has the 2nd best case but their conference schedule wasn't really much harder than ours to date. Houston, Baylor, WV, UCF, Tech, Kansas, Cincinnati, Utah. No ASU, BYU or Colorado. And Arizona State didn't play anyone in OOC.

It's just a mess of above average teams and I don't think any of the four have much of a chance in the playoff.
I don’t think there’s a hair’s difference between the top 8 in the conference right now. Baylor and Tech are playing as well as anybody, and depending on what we do tonight, you might be able to say the same about us.

So... If a player simulates placing a chokehold on opposing player while afterwards pretending to place a toothpick in his mouth, this could be considered simulating brandishing a weapon?? I've seen dozens of times players simulating bow and arrow release and no flag. The Bow and arrow is more ingrained in our DNA than a Mossberg 590S shockwave. I have frog man friends who helped apprehend Noriega in Panama who could kill you with a toothpick. Point is who is writing these rules. The same mentally challenged that came up with these OT rules we saw last night in Georgia/Georgia Tech I suppose.
