This was listed as a one of the benefits by a BYU fan on Cougarboard.. LOL
So, they get to play a bushleague, mid-week schedule on espn ocho, and also get poinsettia bowl access in a cavernous qualcomm stadium? WOoOOoo!!!
-The ESPN deal is anticipated to be worth about $4-6mil, or rough $1mil per game. It's doubtful many of the financial specifics will ever be made public, and there are a lot of specific clauses that will determine the exact amount year-to-year.
-All told, once any local TV deals, basketball revenues, bowl revenue, etc. are sorted out, BYU believes its total income will be roughly triple what it was in the MWC.
-Two words: Poinsettia Bowl
-Fresno State is blacklisted. Nevada is not.
-A few more words: USC, Wisconsin, both Arizona schools.
