Time to bring back Gary

In a conversation recently (Fri PM) GP said, no I'm finished. He sounds like Gary. FYI..recently on TV, you saw a quick tackle made by a Ft. Worth cop as he took out a bad criminal. .The Ft. Worth PD does not allow names and for good reason. But that takeout was made by an ex-TCU football player named Josh Patterson. Yip Gary's oldest. That bad guy was slow, very slow getting onto his feet.

Yet another tidbit, Josh's oldest son is some kind of baseball player. Plays in the out field. During batters changes you can spot Jett dancing waiting for the next batter. They're saying he's a complete natural. Hitting in the 300's, fast and aggressive, his future appears to be baseball. BTW..a good young guy to boot.
Had some dealings with Josh when he was a trainee a few years ago. Couldn’t have been more impressed with his professionalism. High character guy. Glad to see him doing well.

Tennessee tried that with Phil Fulmer.

UTx brought Coach Royal back in a public-facing, honorary role after he was shown the door to the football coaches' offices. He showed up where that university needed him, and smiled. Worked for them.

Windegger was, IMHO, an outstanding baseball coach. Too bad he wasn't used in a public relations role after his coaching days were done. Maybe TCU couldn't afford (didn't want to pay for) a popular figurehead AND a real A.D.

Of course I'd be shocked if it happened, but for fun, let's say he returned. What would Gary do differently as compared to his previous tenure?

I don't know how Coach P feels about certain people at TCU. I do think with NIL and the transfer portal he would hate being a head coach. I think the best thing for him and TCU is to bring him back as the Football Coach Emeritus. Allow him to do what is needed with boosters, coaches, and the university. If the head coach needs help then let him be there to help. I think if Coach P really hated TCU and everything that went down his former players would not be sending their kids to TCU.

Bringing back someone you let go almost never endwell. I miss Coach Patterson more than most on this board. I never wanted him fired. I also know that where the game is going his style is not cut out for it. I blame the NFL.
I agree he bleeds purple. He could motivate and 110% of each player. They were mean they were disciplined they had grit and you didn’t run on them. Let him. Co- Handle the defense as it is broken and smoking. Donati is the cancer in our program and needs to go.

Near the end of his coaching gig, the entire staff grew complacent and really burned out. Gary forgot who he was working for, which developed into problems. Gary loved to say, once a PA, always a PA. No one doubts his love for TCU. We miss his record wins that's for sure.

Did you just out yourself as Gary Patterson with that signature at the end?

One of the reasons we are in this mess is CGPs recruiting failures his last two seasons, especially on the OL and DL.
So we suck now because of 5 years ago…what a joke….do some research - almost half the staring linemen in the top 25 are non-redshirt juniors….

40% of the starters transferred to the school they currently start for…

But keep blaming the guys that’s been done for 3 years now
