ThisHis formula can't work in today's CFB landscape. His formula, when it worked, was to develop raw but high ceiling players over the span of 2-3 years. The most succesful teams had a bunch of chip on their shoulder guys who came up in the program together.
If the current landscape of CFB were around in the late 2000s most of not all of our good players would have transferred out to get that NIL bag and this team never goes to a Fiesta Bowl or Rose Bowl.
All better than we will be this year and he wasn’t a loser coachIn case you’ve forgotten about how many frustrating years we had at the end with Gary.

I called my middle grandson Jett before he was born. He is pretty fast athlete. He gave his mother, our daughter, endless grief recently over her selection of his name, Landon, vs the name I gave him that more accurately defines him! She was told Pop Pop knows how to give better names! In a conversation recently (Fri PM) GP said, no I'm finished. He sounds like Gary. FYI..recently on TV, you saw a quick tackle made by a Ft. Worth cop as he took out a bad criminal. .The Ft. Worth PD does not allow names and for good reason. But that takeout was made by an ex-TCU football player named Josh Patterson. Yip Gary's oldest. That bad guy was slow, very slow getting onto his feet.
Yet another tidbit, Josh's oldest son is some kind of baseball player. Plays in the out field. During batters changes you can spot Jett dancing waiting for the next batter. They're saying he's a complete natural. Hitting in the 300's, fast and aggressive, his future appears to be baseball. BTW..a good young guy to boot.
If I remember your daughter was a B-52 pilot. The very first female to be captain of a B-52. That afternoon we met in Provo and you told me all about her. We won that game barely. Near the end of his coaching gig, the entire staff grew complacent and really burned out. Gary forgot who he was working for, which developed into problems. Gary loved to say, once a PA, always a PA. No one doubts his love for TCU. We miss his record wins that's for sure.In case you’ve forgotten about how many frustrating years we had at the end with Gary.

Ah ha!!! Actually she was the first female bomber pilot in the USAFR, the very first female to fly the plane on active duty was at Barksdale during my A-10 days.If I remember your daughter was a B-52 pilot. Tennessee tried that with Phil Fulmer.I don't know how Coach P feels about certain people at TCU. I do think with NIL and the transfer portal he would hate being a head coach. I think the best thing for him and TCU is to bring him back as the Football Coach Emeritus. Allow him to do what is needed with boosters, coaches, and the university. If the head coach needs help then let him be there to help. I think if Coach P really hated TCU and everything that went down his former players would not be sending their kids to TCU.
Bringing back someone you let go almost never ends well. I miss Coach Patterson more than most on this board. I never wanted him fired. I also know that where the game is going his style is not cut out for it. I blame the NFL.
Imagining GP coaching in this era is laughable. Almost everything he was about does not fly now.Tennessee tried that with Phil Fulmer.
I think even Saban could see that his way was not going to work much longer.Imagining GP coaching in this era is laughable. Almost everything he was about does not fly now.
One of the reasons we are in this mess is CGPs recruiting failures his last two seasons, especially on the OL and DL.Say sorry to him. Promise a second statue. I don't care. He would never allow 66 points (and counting) to Smew.
This is an embarrassment of historical proportions.
Exactly, 100%!I think even Saban could see that his way was not going to work much longer.
