Though Colorado State had more total yards, 499 to 418, they had a ridiculous 17 penalties for 182 yards and 4 turnovers compared to the Buffs 10 penalties for 87 yards and 2 turnovers.

This was worse than Boston College’s 18 penalties for 131 yards in their 31-29 loss to FSU. BC also had more total yards, 457 versus 340.

Kedon Slovis was 13 of 25 for 167 yards, 2 TD’s and no picks. How the heck does that compute to 2nd best in the Big 12? Clearly, NO TURNOVERS matters a great deal, but still.

BYU only had 281 yards of offense and score 38 for the win - how the heck did that happen? Arkansas had 424 total yards but 14 penalties for 125 yards and two turnovers to BYU’s only one. But still, 38 points on 281 yards, sheesh.

What the heck has happened to Mike Gundy’s offense? 208 total yards versus South Alabama. Gundy has been a very good coach. Yesterday, Gunnar Gundy was the backup QB.

The Big XII is bad.

Cincinnati had 538 total yards with 273 rushing and 265 passing but loses to Miami of Ohio 31-24. Miami had only 358 total yards. Each team with 2 turnovers.

Football was a mess yesterday. The Big XII is a mess, sheesh.

I see comments that suggest some here find joy in our Big XII mates stinking it up versus other conferences and I don’t understand that.

It’s still early and plenty of time for teams to turn it around including us. However, it does look bleak at the moment. I’m interested in how UCF will play KSU next week. Big game for both programs.

Yeah this is why I feel like I have to root for Colorado now even though I don’t want to. The Big 12 has been so unfathomably terrible so far that we need future Big 12 member Colorado to continue their success into Pac 12 play, just so this conference has something to hang their hat on. Unfortunately without Travis Hunter I could see Colorado losing big to USC and Oregon these next couple weeks. We need them to be competitive.

It’s going to be a really bad look for the Big 12 if everyone is terrible and OU and UT just dominate the conference on their way out the door.

I get that the Big 12 has taken some bad losses but look around the country and see what the other conferences are doing. The PAC 12 has looked really good but other than that none of the other leagues have been impressive at all. And of course the PAC 12 only has a few more months to exist so this great season they're having will be for naught.

Every man for himself. scheiss the rest of the Big 12, I hope they all suck for eternity. The only way this works out well for us in the end is if TCU is good. The rest of the league can kick rocks.

We can still make noise in conference.

Iowa State, Cincy, Houston, TT, Baylor, KSU and Okie St all look down.

Only OU and Texas look good so far.
People keep throwing Oklahoma in their with Texas. I haven't seen anything at all that leads me to believe that they've solved the multitude of problems that they had last year. I guess we'll see on Saturday how we look at home against SMU but Oklahoma looked incredibly underwhelming in that game and their other 2 games were against Jr High schools.

And let's not act like Texas is above totally blowing this thing in conference play either. No one at all would be surprised if they ended up losing 3 or 4 games again despite the win over Alabama. We've seen it from them for 14 years now. They're the clear favorite right now obviously but I don't trust Sark or that program at all.

I'm just not on this train of Texas and OU are the clear class of the conference like everyone else seems to be. Maybe that's the way it will end up but I've been watching football long enough to know that about half the teams you think are good in September end up not being there by the end of October. Right now I still think you could pick a name out of a hat between those two plus TCU, Tech, and Kansas St for who will end up winning the conference. And who knows maybe UCF even makes some noise although I highly doubt that one.

My wish list of wins:
Houston - Check
Smew - TBD
Tech - TBD
UT - TBD
Baylor - TBD

We win these games, my season is complete. But I do agree, as long as TCU looks good the rest of the conference can go kick rocks.
