Vernon was from down here in San Benito. A good friend of mine was talking about him the other night. He said he was a great guy. My friend ran a Coors operation and is also good friends with Bob Lilly. He is not a TCU guy himself but sure is connected with some good Frogs.

Mr.Hallbeck was recruited as a lineman, but was moved to fullback in 1955 when Buddy Dike missed the season after suffering a severe injury. Vernon did one great job in short yardage situations, and was a terrific lead blocker for Swink & Co. My best wishes for his family.
