TCU men will be on the course shortly at Harding Park in San Francisco for The Goodwin. You can get a feel for the muni that acts like a country club here and here.

Frogs will be without Gustav Frimodt, who is battling an injury. Frimodt has led TCU in scoring in every tournament this season. That's an amazing stat. Anyway, Frogs will have their hands full as they face a huge field with a bunch of good teams and some not-so-good teams (designed to help the better teams get their record over .500). TCU is playing out the hand its been dealt, but it's a pleasant place to do so.

TCU men moved up a spot on Friday and two more on Saturday thanks to a 69 and a pair of 70s. Couldn't quite track down Utah Tech for 27th place, however.

Hoge with a T14 in Houston. One of several highlights.

Johannes Veerman finishes T2 and Jeong Weon Ko T5 at the DP World Tour's event in Delhi, which features this amazing hole, the green benched into the quarry rocks above the railroad ties.

Also, a couple of former Frogs begin play today in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, which also poses the question of which is the better golf name--Annabelle Pancake or Asterisk Talley? Leaderboard

Only one shot separated the two today, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pancake's career fell flat. On the other hand, I think Asterisk will be a star.

Shoutout to the TCU women, who put together their best performance of the year at the Silverado Showdown in Napa. Frogs finished T7, but their 54-hole total of +14 beat third-ranked UCLA and 16th-ranked Oregon, and tied 7th-ranked Texas.

It was a total team effort, as no Frog finished in the top 20 but 4 of 5 players (Angosta, Lau, Winans, and Barroso Sa) finished in the top 30. Barroso Sa ran off six birdies in a row today.

Frogs needed something to build on late in the year, and they got it. Nice work!

TCU men are in action today for 36 holes at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City in the Hawkeye Invitational.

A previous version of the course, Old Finkbine, is famed as the location of my dad's lowest-ever round (65), as well as a possibly true story about a 500-yard drive aided by an adjacent road and a favorable redirection off a passing car.

Gustav Frimodt is still out with injury. I suspect that he is being careful in managing his position (currently 12th) in the PGA Tour University rankings. The top 20 seniors get a pass into PGA Tour Americas for the upcoming season. The top 10 get a pass onto the Korn Ferry Tour. Standings are based on average points, with a minimum divisor of 18. Gustav has played in 16 qualifying events, so he'll have an incentive to tee it up twice more, if able.

TCU men with their best round of the season Saturday morning in Iowa, shooting 67-68-68-71 for the first-round lead. May have been the best career rounds for Wilt, Beauchamp and Petruzzelli, but can't seem to confirm via stats at GoFrogs.com.

Frogs dropped back to T2 as a team after round 2, but they are within 5 shots of the lead and will have a shot at a team trophy for the first time in a while on Sunday. Beauchamp and Petruzzelli are both in the top 10. Encouraging!

TCU men finish T2 in Iowa with a balanced effort that saw all 5 players finish in the top 40. Wilt and Beauchamp both posted Top 20 finishes. Something to build on in a challenging year.

TCU women will be in action Thursday through Saturday for the Big XII Championship at Houston Oaks.

Following last week's performance, TCU jumped 8 spots in the rankings to 58th, which would be the third team outside the cutoff for an NCAA bid.



But even if the Frogs won the conference tournament and jumped into the Top 50, they would not qualify for the postseason due to their season record that is approximately 34 spots under .500 (eyeballing it as 42-76).

That's the result of a schedule loaded with strong teams. It's not a huge issue in a rebuilding year, but if TCU finished 2 spots higher in 8 of their 9 tournaments, they'd probably miss the postseason as a top-40 squad due to the .500 rule.

The women's destination-oriented schedule has long been a selling point in recruiting, but coach will need to build in some weaker-field events to ensure the team qualifies when it deserves to do so.

TCU women had 2 good rounds at the Big 12 Championship. They were third on Thursday after shooting +7, and they closed today with an even better +5. And they got good contributions from Megan Winans and Sofie Dimitrova, both of whom finished top 30, as did Sofia Barroso Sa.

One bad round, however, meant a T10 finish.

It wasn't the swan song that senior Lois Lau hoped for, but she completes her TCU career as the Frogs' all-time leader in birdies, with 358.

TCU men are on the course at Whispering Pines for the Big XII Championship, and conditions look good for scoring if the early leaderboard is an indication.

As hoped, Gustav Frimodt is back in the lineup, along with Wilt (par or better in 6 of his last 7 rounds), Beauchamp, Petruzzelli, and Dial. Berzina is the alternate.

While this is likely the last event of the season for the Frogs, Frimodt can expect to qualify as an individual for NCAA Regionals, which will give him the key 18th start needed to cement his PGA Tour University standing and status on PGA Tour Americas. If he does really well, he could bump up to the Korn Ferry Tour. Keep an eye on him!

Strange year for B12 golf. UT, OSU and OU are all re-building at the same time. Tech has hung in there after losing Aberg, a historical talent for them. It looks like there’s no real national threat out of the conference this year.
