I can't imagine he made this decision purely on his own.Yep, Occam's Razor.
Instead people choose to believe Donati did this as some parting shot to scheiss TCU.

Damn. Great story, Sir.Buddy and I took a roadie from Texas to San Francisco in '83. I was at DLI there and had been home for Christmas, and we left on the 26th headed west. I had removed the heat and A/C from my 66 Supersport Chevelle, because, "horsepower," lol.
We hit the worst winter storm of the year in West Texas, and for the last couple hours on I-20 we were pelted with sleet to the point that the windshield was a sheet of ice. Stopped at a gas station in the middle of nowhere and bought cans of de-ice, so the last hour or so I was driving with my left hand out the window spraying de-ice so I could see to drive. OBTW, we couldn't close the trunk because our surfboards were sticking out too far, so it was held down with bungee cords.
Went to Kmart the next morning and bought a little space heater and wired it up under the dash to make just enough heat to make a basketball-sized clear spot for me to see to drive.
2nd night we made Santa Fe and decided to stay an extra day and ski.
It was slip-n-slide all the way up the mountain next morning, I'm convinced the only reason we stayed on the road was because the car's rear end was loaded so heavy. The HIGH temp on the mountain that day was 4. FOUR.
Back then there were no services at the mountain- no gear, no food, just basically a place to rent skis and go to the bathroom. First run up the lift that morning, I dropped a glove which disappeared under a foot of fresh powder. Couldn't buy gloves there, so I just tried to tough it out. Made two runs before I surrendered, and spent the rest of the day hiding out in the lodge, waiting for my buddy to get his fill. Skiing there was epic, no crowds, great snow, we had a ball and I've been back several times since, but that was maybe the coldest I've ever been in my life, and feel lucky I didn't get frostbite.
For quality of skiing though, notwithstanding crowds, Taos is the bomb and can be the equal of any other mountain in the US, IMHO. Al's Run is as intense and technical as any other I've ever seen in Colorado, Montana, or anywhere else.
If they were jiving for the Rate and missed, that’s pretty pathetic. They could just ask La Tech why that does not work out.I can't imagine he made this decision purely on his own.
He wasn't even at TCU. He was introduced at USC Friday.I can't imagine he made this decision purely on his own.

Liberty Bowl quite frankly prefers Tech to TCU as the traveling crowd will be bigger
Who are those sources? Guessing you mean the source the reporter mentioned? It's been well substantiated with sources that know that TCU DID NOT TURN DOWN A NONEXISTENT INVITE TO THE LIBERTY BOWL!
We would have gone to the scheissing Servpro bowl at the scheissing SMU stadium if we accepted the last Big 12 tie in.
The nonsense about turning bowls down is just that. Nonsense.
jfc people step back from the ledge

Bowl people start scouting possible teams before season is over.He wasn't even at TCU. He was introduced at USC Friday.
Didn't read How did it end?Buddy and I took a roadie from Texas to San Francisco in '83. I was at DLI there and had been home for Christmas, and we left on the 26th headed west. I had removed the heat and A/C from my 66 Supersport Chevelle, because, "horsepower," lol.

This. Their choice.Liberty Bowl quite frankly prefers Tech to TCU as the traveling crowd will be bigger
There's other sources than this board or the startlegram.Who are those sources? Guessing you mean the source the reporter mentioned?
Seems like every part of this story has a well substantiated source.
He seems almost as famous as that unnamed source fella.
Oh, so like magic sources, or just seedy ones like in D.C.?There's other sources than this board or the startlegram.
I'm sure if you sift around for the sources for as much time as you've spent bashing my last few posts, that's all you would have needed. You're a smart guy. I just think all the bed wetting about "someone at TCU supposedly told the Liberty Bowl to scheiss off" is hilarious.Oh, so like magic sources, or just seedy ones like in D.C.?
Jeremy has been pretty reliable on a lot of stuff, but I’ve only seen second hand what was claimed he mentioned on this … you know… from a source.
Can't miss with their Huevos Rancheros (over medium)Albuquerque dining FYI
El Sabor de Juarez is just outside the airport 2 miles from the stadium and opens at 8 a.m. Fine pick for a Saturday AM breakfast

Also, eat a Blake's Lot-A-Burger with green chile
And Duran's Central Diner is an old-time drugstore counter
Won't salvage the trip to Albuquerque but might make it more tolerable
