I have lost a friend, but was more than just a friend. A number of years ago, John knew I was having financial difficulties. I had a set of Ben Hogan 40th Anniversary commemorative irons. He paid me $1,500 for them, and I knew they weren't worth near that much. About 5 years later, he wanted to meet for lunch. After we had eaten, we walked back to his truck, he reached in and handed me the box of irons. He said these mean a lot more to you than me, I want you to have them back. This was what kind of guy he was. I wish I could see his reunion with his dad.
He will be missed, no, he is already missed.
