MAKING CHILI - REFLECTING ON TCU FOOTBALL

It’s my cure all for the dog poop life can throw at you. I make chili. No beans, but that should be a separate thread.

My tailgate yesterday included my sister, nieces and nephews, Brewingfrog, Double D, guests from past TCU trips, and other friends. I would not have it any other way. I live for these Saturday Days at AGCS. It is my happy place.

I miss Pattersons Defense. You give a Patterson team 34 points, then the game is over.

TCU NEEDS A DEFENSE.

It’s time to fry up some onions and garlic in butter.

I’ll see everyone on Friday October 4 for Houston. 6:30 kickoff. Come on Defense!

As I predicted, TCU can't stop the run. TCU can't run the ball. Recipe for a LONG Season.

If D can't set the edge and get off the field, its gonna be a long night.

GREAT TAILGATE yesterday although it was so dam humid and HOT!!!

GO FROGS!! BEAT the PONIES!

D was pretty bad, UCF kept pounding the rock, wore them down in 2nd half. Credit to Malzahn. He didn't panick , stuck to his teams strength, the running game. Plus their QB was much better with his passes in the 2nd half.

TCU , when up by 21, should have eating up time and run the ball, yet Briles sticky with the passing game. That "drive" in the 4th, after UCF punted, was a classic example of why TCU won't probably be anything more than a 500 team this season. 3 and out, probably about a minute off the clock. That was ridiculous!!

Thank you for being honest. I take [ Finebaum ] when being honest.

This team is average, the coaching is average and 2022 was a complete fluke. As depicted by Championship game final score.

This is a very average football team.

Really good QB, but he can’t do it all by himself.
Coaching is a big part of the problem.

Ken Doll, Sonny…….

Was I supposed to type something here?

Thank you, Froglaw, for hosting my sweaty carcass yesterday! It was a pleasure meeting namollec, as well as the rest of the herd!

And, with all due respect, butter?!? Bacon, man! Half a rasher at least!

We are going to kill SMU.

After losing a home game we should have won and having mich more depth and talent than the little ponies, we are going to stomp them.

Love the tailgate, froglaw. So many true frogs fans.

At one point, I felt sorry for a one who was so exposed, so "by himself" on the defense. D needs to send help when a guy put on an island and finds that person being beaten over and over.

Hate the way the offense evaporated into such a humid night.

Let's go, Frogs - keep the fireworks going all the way to the games end.

I’ll ask the same question I asked my family: What would the score have been from last year’s team? Probably something like 45-17 UCF.

Hoover is a profound leader and this a team who genuinely has an affinity for each other. That alone is going to keep us fighting all year. But to be fair, we have 2 Achilles at the moment: we can’t run and we can’t stop the run. Those flaws will probably keep us out of a championship run, but we have some great weapons too. Here is my point:

Just let the season unfold. It’s the only one we’ve got right now, next year doesn’t exist. When we win, my plan is to savor every “w” as though we won a championship. And when we lose, I am going to flush it. I am not in charge, I have no control. No amount of stewing and analyzing is going to do anything.

Watching the replay, I feel that the game was like a title game, a really good game between two really good teams, a game of inches in which TCU almost pulled it out. I feel really good about T. C. U. I do not feel that we "blew it." I do not blame coaches or players. I think if the boys can recover and beat SMU soundly, restore their confidence we can still be a contender.

I think it just hurts us particularly because of the 21 point lead and the momentum shift. But agree with you 100%.
