Profanity Filters: a Pole

There are certain posters there who are simply idiots (a lot of them, sadly), and use profanity simply for the sake of using profanity. Their posts are generally without any value whatsoever. There are other posters who can use profanity in an artful, meaningful manner that greatly enhances what they had to say.

Once the novelty of shock value wears off, one needn't lean so hard on shocking words. But, alas, some never reach that point...

I do agree with that. Also, swearing or using certain language in a public forum is different than saying something amongst friends you know.

I voted, but I would have voted to allow mild curse words such as h#ll and d@mn while using filters for f#&% and others of that.... umm....intensity.

Since that wasn't an option I voted for updated filters, because I'm not gonna lie, I will occasionally giggle a little if the filter is used in a creative way.

Big Steaming Pile is more accurate.
