I worked at Mailboxes Plus in college, right next to The Pub and Jon's Grille (now Buffalo Brothers). Something like this was always in the back of your mind - I was there in the early 2000s, in the time of anthrax scares.

A guy did try to come in and ship something like 10 minutes before closing time once. He was very fidgety and paid in cash. The thing smelled like gasoline. Called the police. It was a large amount of cocaine.

Was it being mailed to SMU?

“Hello, is this the police? OK, good. I work at Mailbox plus on University and a suspicious guy just came in trying to mail 3 pounds of co...I mean two pounds of...I mean, sorry, wrong number.”

They said the officers on the scene were waiting for Tactical Officers to get there when the perp pulled the pin. Man, it takes time to get the Tac sunglasses, the Tac lighters, the Tac flashlights, and all the other Tac stuff together so you can go to work!
Tac tictacs..

after reading after how the suspect was tracked and pinpointed i recalled the old story about how mythbusters wanted to do an episode on rfid's and basically decided against it.

number of stories as to the why they scrubbed the story, but if you have a bit of time you might find the attached articles interesting when you hear about how quickly and accurately law enforcement was able to find the suspect once they tracked him to that fedex store.

My morbid curiosity is getting the best of me...is there actual video of police trying to get him where he blew himself up...even from a distance?
