I know nothing about the dude except he has worked at Furman and West Point but if you want your AD to be an NIL generator and corporate smooooozzer, this seems like an odd hire, no?

I mean does West Point even have NIL deals?

Someone that knows far more about this guy, lay out the positives please, thanks.

In 2015, Buddie was hired to serve as athletic director at Furman University. While at Furman, Buddie negotiated a multi-year partnership with Nike, produced the athletic department's first balanced budget, and spearheaded an effort to bring the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament back to upstate South Carolina in 2017 (landing two future tournament stops). He also secured three separate $1 million endowments in support of the football and volleyball programs. While the AD, Furman won 26

Buddie attended Wake Forest University, and in 1990 and 1991 he played collegiate summer baseballwith the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.[1] Buddie was selected by the New York Yankees in the fourth round of the 1992 MLB Draft. He played for the Yankees and the Milwaukee Brewers from 1998 to 2002. In 87 career games, he had a 5–4 record with a 4.67 ERA. He batted and threw right-handed. Buddie was also the pitching coach who prepared Kevin Costner for Costner's stint as a pitcher in Sam Raimi's film For Love of the Game(1999). Buddie also had a brief speaking role as the character Jack Spellman in that film.[citation needed]

Why would we need a "splash hire"? I couldn't name five AD's in all of college athletics, and wouldn't know who would be a splash hire.

Who would be a splash hire in your opinion?
That’s been my take. We didn’t know CDC was who he was until after he was here a Few years. prob same for Morrison. So I’m not smart enough to say good or bad.

sounds like a good guy whos been involved in high end athletics for a couple of decades and has a history of getting deals done. this also didn’t take too long to come to closure either. So I’ll take it until shown otherwise.
