So I was reading on the contract that Nebraska has with the big 10.. The contract ends in 2024.. do y’all think we should try to get them back? Also what would y’all think if Colorado came back? We could have divisions agian and also going to boulder every other year would be great..

Won’t happen.

Ohio State and Penn State's contract ends in 2024 too, maybe we should go after them too while we're at it?

I'm not sure why a University would leave the Big 10 for the Big 12 at this stage in the game. It's less stable, less profitable, and less academically prestigious. Really the only reason would be a return of the OU / other Big 8 rivalries, and that's not nearly enough to sway anything.

Pick up the 2 Arizona schools or the Hogs and Nebraska or Colorado.

How about we work on trying to stay "in" when that time comes for realignment.

Exactly. Big 12 contract ends that same time and it's also a thought that UT/OU might look elsewhere. So it goes both ways on possibilities with Big 12 and the possibility that Big 12 will be no more.

That is why it is important for our TCU President and AD to be making deep relationships with other power conferences power players.

There is nothing interesting about a thought that has been tirelessly discussed on this forum for years now.

Are you sure? What about UH, University of North Texas, UT El Paso, Rice, Tulane and others who the Big 12 should consider adding to get to 12 or 14?

(Please don't ask if this is sarcasm).

Nebraska chose to follow the example of Arkansas, and discontinue having any exposure in Texas recruiting. Their own egos trumped common sense. The result? No championships for decades. Leave them to their own device.
Arkansas got smart (thanks to Jerry Jones and stupid aggy) and have a least one home game in Texas now every other year.

College football needs a conference based out of Texas and the 2 Oklahoma schools should be an integral part of that.

Maybe add back in some old SWC teams

Nebraska should always be welcome. The issue has always been with UT so that would need to be resolved so Nebraska would feel this time would be different. They do have a traditional rivalry with OU too and many of their fans are nostalgic and don't think the Big10 is all they thought it would be. But really I just think they would make for a good team and university for the conference and have the track record to prove it.

On the flip side, if they were to come back it would translate into more competition in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma for recruits. You would also see the conference move to divisions again which brings in other challenges and opportunities.

The reason it's a silly question to ask has nothing to do with whether the Big 12 should / would welcome Nebraska if they desired to return. The Big 12 would bend over backwards to make that happen if it was a realistic possibility.

The issue is that Nebraska has next to no reason to do it, as they are significantly better off in just about every way in the Big 10.

Bill Snyder said he knows of 2 former B12 programs who want to come back.. And Bill Snyder is someone who can be taken at his word.. Based on that, one would guess that Nebraska would be one of programs in that they have fallen a long, long way coupled with the fact that Snyder's close to Lincoln and surely knows the people there well..

Nope. we already have to deal with having a school that covered up assaults of disturbing nature in Waco. Never again.

Nebraska, Iowa. Brings back the Nebraska OU rivalry...which was always bigger to OU fans than the red river. And Iowa Iowa State.

The football and athletic programs may want back, but these decisions are made by university leadership. The paychecks in the Big Ten and SEC are all they care about.
