Something that stood out to me is who got mentioned at (Sucks to) BU. It is someone with a very strong connection to Patterson's time at TCU. When I look at UT it felt like CDC brought Patterson in to help. I think there are several people close to Patterson that are willing to help him if he wants to coach. I think Coach Patterson is still trying to decide what he wants to do with his next chapter.

I thought I read where he was helping SMU with their transition to the ACC. It was something along the lines that he was working as a consultant to help teams moving to different conferences and levels of football. If he still wants to coach I don't think he should do it at a high level. I get the sense he and Nick Saban are similar in they don't want to put up up with all the mess anymore. It also seemed that when Dick Bumpas left a certain part of Patterson also left. It just seemed that the front 6 never could replicate some its past successes. I think he would be very happy at a D3 school like Austin College or even better going to volunteer at Paschal HS. As many have said he would make a great analyst on a structured show. He is probably a little too wordy for in-game commentary though I did enjoy him with the old Boston College coach. I also think having him work at TCU as the football coach emeritus would not be the worst idea. I cannot imagine that he and Dykes don't talk. I also think his ability to work several boosters and members of the FTW community for TCU would be appreciated. This would probably be very similar to the role that Bud Grant kept with the Viqueens.

Until Coach P finds what he wants in his next chapter he is never going to find fulfillment. That is true for many in retirement.

Was I supposed to type something here?

I immediately thought of old R.C. Slocum and his path at A&M...

Where/What is RC doing now?
Ags would’ve been so much better off had they never fired him. They can talk about all their (cultish) values they want, they did him wrong.

But I don’t care that much ‘cause scheiss that scheissing school, that town, that team, those scheissing dogs, that stadium, that stupid cult, anyone that goes there, any family members of people that go there, any humans procreated by people who have gone and go there, and any family lines in perpetuity of any people that have gone there.

A&M is not the only school to fall victim to the dangerous belief that a coach that 'only' win's 8-9 games year in and year out isn't getting the job done.

But yes, I wholeheartedly agree with the second half of your sentiment. S crew A&M

Kirby is not a terribly stable individual...
I honestly think that's why the SEC has been doing so well. Same with Ohio State. They are not soft. If a player can't handle it and wants to portal, they'll be happy to show them the door. NC State's Defensive Coordinator pretty much said those words when they showed him on ACC Roadtrip's stop there on the ACC Network. They were talking about how they are not having a problem with players being "soft".
Seen some stuff on Saban in practice. He was just as tough, even in the edited version. lol.

Kirby can pretty much point to this video and say, "hey, at least I aint like that"
