Dear Horned Frogs:
Greetings from Kansas City and the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Championship! Our men's basketball program will face Oklahoma today at 2:00 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. It has been great seeing a lot of Horned Frogs in town cheering on our guys as we enter post-season play.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, AGAIN
Congratulations to Head Coach Karen Monez, Assistant Coaches Hannah Black and Rachel McCollum and all the student-athletes in our rifle program on winning the NCAA National Championship on Saturday in Morgantown, West Virginia!
The resiliency and determination of this group was defined by us overcoming a 6-point deficit on the final day to capture the title over the host Mountaineers. Helping us make up ground was us winning the Air Rifle National Championship for the fifth time.
We are the only all-female team in the coed sport to win a national championship, and we have now done it four times under Coach Monez. Our other titles were in 2010, 2012 and 2019. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days on how we will recognize and celebrate our national champions.
