GoFrogs: TCU’s Rally Falls Short In Series Finale
FORT WORTH – No. 19 TCU rallied to tie the game at seven in the eighth, but Oklahoma State bounced back with two runs in the top of the ninth and held on for the 9-8 victory on Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

The Rundown
Adam Oviedo's two-out, two run double in the bottom of the eighth completed TCU's comeback as it tied the game at seven heading into the ninth inning.

It wasn't to be though as the Cowboys took advantage of a two-out error to score twice in the ninth for a 9-7 lead.

TCU had its chance in the bottom of the inning with a run in and the bases loaded. A diving stop on a ball down the line by the third baseman brought the game to a close as the Frogs rally fell a run short.

Oklahoma State opened the scoring on a one-out, solo home run in the first, but the Frogs responded with two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. Jake Guenther tied the game with a base hit and Oviedo grounded out to bring in Josh Watson for a 2-1 lead.

In the third, the Cowboys struck for a trio of runs to make it a 4-2 ballgame. Again, the Frogs had an answer. With two outs, infield singles from Oviedo and Conner Shepherd put the tying runs on base. Zach Humphreys tied the game with a double to right center.

The see-saw battle continued as Oklahoma State regained the lead with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Cowboys carried that 7-4 lead into the seventh when the Frogs comeback started.

Humphreys delivered a two-out single in the seventh to pull the Frogs within two, 7-5, setting up the wild finish over the final two innings.

Charles King (1-1) was the tough-luck loser, surrendering three runs (one earned) on just two hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. He walked two and struck out four in a relief of Brandon Williamson.
