Poke fans can’t figure it out either. They have really underachieved. It is going to be difficult to force Gundy out, too. His act has grown stale & a lot of fans want him gone. It is going to be a messy divorce in Stillwater.
Was sitting near quite a few OSU fans last night and heard a lot of frustration expressed. Both the facts that they had the most returning starters in the B12 this year and that their 18 year bowl streak was coming to an end had them (understandably) bitchy.
FWIW, I think it would be a mistake to let Gundy go. This season is an anomaly against the norm, and he deserves the chance to right the ship. If they have another year like this then maybe it's time, but not yet imo

Agree generally, Gundy's been beyond great for them. However, when he lost that QB they had in 2022, who was (IMHO) quite possibly the most talented he's ever had, that was a giant red flag. Stack that on top of the regular roster of super low-character guys who populate their roster, and it's cause for skepticism.

Oklahoma State is in complete disarray, but you've still got to beat them like we didn't beat then-winless-in-conference Houston. Another week of improved rush yardage, ball security, and penalties on offense. Defense looked soft at times against the run as expected but did not than enough over all.

If we keep trending in this direction 8-4 is very possible, which given where we looked to be after the Houston game would be a nice finish.

I was talking with some guys at the game about this exact thing. We have a chance of ending up 9-4 if we we win out the regular season and win a bowl game. Who would have thought this dog scat season could actually end up with 9 wins?

6-6 is also very possible. Frogs are a mediocre team . Cinci & Arizona area definitely beatable. They're probably thinking the same about TCU. Hope for 8-4. Would be a nice way to go into off season, expectations for 2025 season.

For sure, we're still a flawed team; both lines lack depth in talent, turnover bug could come back anytime; ditto penalty foolishness. But...

Mid-season improvement is difficult to achieve. GP's defenses always did it, until they didn't. But most teams are in late November what they look like in mid October. TCU's improvement in the run game, ball security, and penalty yards has been fairly modest, but credit where it's due: at 3-3 after Houston I thought we were heading for finish no better than 5-7 and Sonny's staff didn't have a clue what to do about it. Even against the dreck our schedule has proved to have on it, rallying to an 8-4 finish would be praiseworthy.

8-4 in the regular season against this schedule is not a success. Weakest TCU schedule since joining the big 12 by FAR…probably weaker than some MWC schedules

At most, we played 2 top 25 teams…

Well, its all relative I guess. And it definitely is a long shot, but a 9 win season even with a weak schedule is improvement over last years debacle and the way this season started. Take it for what it is. A much better record (if it happens) over last year. A building block. Chin up Florida Man, the sun will come out tomorrow. And as I said, its a possibility, not a done deal.

Fan excitement is a new low…everybody sees the issues with this team and the watered down schedule.

This 2024 TCU would lose by 40 to the Kenny hill Alamo bowl team
