I guess if you think last year was due only to the players being amazing then that begs the question why those same players didn't win more games over the previous 3 seasons.
Hmm maybe because those same players had another year to grow and mature. It ain't rocket science.

Breaking news: College players are young adults still growing physically and mentally.

Sometimes the best thing for coaches to do is let the players do their thing. We've seen that when Coker took over Miami, Coach O at LSU, and Dykes at TCU last year.

It all just depends on the crop of players your team has. This year, Dykes is required to coach them up more and he just can't do it.

remember, k-state was considered the second or third best team going into the season. y'all didn't lose to chop liver last night. but it did seem almost like a scrimmage as the game progressed. during warm-ups, the frogs seemed a bit undersized. but that may have been a reflection of those black & white uniforms. state couldn't have played much better, nor the frogs a lot worse. one of those burn the tape games and move on.

Just re-watched the 38 key plays from the game on YouTube TV. The Frogs had a whooping 10 out of the 38 and they had to dig deep for those like 2 sacks and 3 first downs! Not our best performance!

So you think all of those players just happened to all mature at the exact same time and coincidentally when a brand new staff came in? Seems unlikely.

You can criticize the job that Dykes and the staff have done this year without acting like they were just along for the ride last year and had absolutely nothing to do with any of the success.

I'm cool with losing to KSU, they are a great team and have a great coach, it how we lost to KSU that matters. It's bad man...

I mean Dykes himself has proven my point in his 13 years of coaching. Last year was a fluke for him. He's only had 2 seasons with 10+ wins.

2-4 in postseason games. You're fighting an uphill battle right now trying to defend him.
