FORT WORTH—Susan G. Komen® Greater Fort Worth announced today its partner organization, Texas Christian University’s Frogs For The Cure (FFTC), will be competing in the fourth annual Pink Glove Video Competition. FFTC has designated Susan G. Komen® Greater Fort Worth as their chosen breast cancer charity. The Greater Fort Worth Affiliate of Komen could receive up to $25,000 if the FFTC video entry receives the most votes.

Voting begins today, Friday, October 25, and closes November 8. Individuals can vote online every day that the competition is open at www.pinkglovedance.com by searching for TCU Frogs for the Cure.

The Pink Glove Video Competition, sponsored by pink glove makers Medline Industries, originated in 2009 after a video of 200 staff members dancing with pink gloves at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore. went viral and caught national media attention.

The Providence staff used the media attention to garner support for breast cancer awareness. Now, the dance has become a competition in which prizes are awarded as donations to breast cancer charities in the name of the winning video.

"Our goal is to educate as many people as possible about breast health and the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer,” said Craig Schaefer, executive director of the Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth Affiliate. "The Pink Glove Video competition is a fun and creative way to do just that. We want to encourage all of Fort Worth to vote for the Frogs for the Cure Pink Glove Dance video and thank TCU for their continued support of our organization.” ...
