I was trying to find an article on it. How long did it take to raise the $100MM for the stadium project in 2011/12?

Unknown. But, to quantify, Cal/Stanford are getting $15/$20mm p/yr respectively, so using $20mm as par, that is effectively the equivalent of Stanford's payout over 5yrs.

Del Conte (who was the advent liaison for the fundraising efforts) was hired in Dec '09 and the $105mm was announced in Aug '10. (For reference.)

For fun, $105mm (raised right after a global financial crisis), would be ~$150mm today. Further, it was also fully funded from 34 donors.

Fund raising for a specific cause (new stadium) is always easier than just raising money to raise it. That’s what I found impressive. The amount of wealth generated by the wealthiest Americans over the last few years certainly aided the cause of the Ponies.
