We needed to get into the SEC when we had the chance but our admin was behind the curve as usual and now we’re #2 in DFW in a conference without any big name programs while SMU plays Clemson and FSU and Duke and UNC basketball. Boschini should have been fired years ago.

The people of Dallas and Fort Worth KNOW that TCU football far exceeds SMU football and a new conference "affiliation" doesn't change ANYTHING.

And the nACC is NOT better than the nBXII - FlStU may have a good team in '23 but otherwise the conference is challenged, IMO.

Keep in mind though that three of the four ACC teams you mentioned are likely not there in five years.

Let’s not talk up our football stadium. It is a dump too. Smu did spend a lot to put theirs in the ground. If you can remember when we both joined the WAC, we had to have stadiums with 35,000 or more. SMU met that requirement and also had future plans that would double the size.

SMU has the donors and the money to make smu successful if they want too. We have to work twice as hard as they do. They will always be the coke and we will always be the Pepsi. Everyone likes the underdog and that is what we are.

SMU got lucky and yes, we got screwed. All we can do is keep winning games and try to overcome the recruiting obstacle we will have versus SMU.

Let’s face it, now that SMI is playing Clemson, Miami, Florida State and sometimes ND; do you think recruits want to play for a big 12 school like us! We need to use are NIL money. If not we are done!
You are a troll, a SMU one at that. Our stadium is not a dump by anyone's measuring stick.

Does your mom know you were on the internet after 11 pm on a school night?

$110M renovation will be finished this summer. The stadium is fine and will not hold us back from competing
Stadium is fine for a Group of 5 conference. In its current condition it’s completely inadequate for anything more. Glad SMU is investing a lot of money to improve it.

Not even close. ACC is and will continue to be beneath the Big 12 conference. SMU stadium is not even close to the level of the TCU stadium.

Good luck ponies. I'm 72 and will probably be dead before smu gets their first dime of TV money. Keep on drawing >25k/game to your little aluminum stadium and enjoy your coast to coast travel budget. Nobody has that much money. And by the way your faculty STILL hates football.

And you can put your football and basketball stadiums INSIDE the ACC stadiums with room to spare.

Half of our living alumni are in Aspen or Park City this weekend
That was funny, well done.

Paul Finebaum—
"There is such a fissure right now in the ACC. I just want to congratulate the ACC for essentially voting out Clemson, North Carolina and Florida State because after what happened Friday with the admission of SMU, Cal and Stanford, they have essentially given those three a ticket out. That league, which was already teetering towards irrelevancy, has just taken on three schools that devalue an already discounted product even more, and that league is just heading towards the iceberg."

theirs will be after they renovate whereas ours is way behind top programs. Our stadium needs serious work.

I’ve been to a bunch of SEC stadiums. They all hold 100K and are sold out. There are high school game day atmospheres better than ours.
You must be a closet SMU fan or just completely out of touch. Yes, some SEC stadiums and Big 10 stadiums are much bigger. They are much bigger schools. I have been to them too. But TCU has a great stadium that stacks up very well.

SMU is lucky till Clemson and FSU pull a Texas and OU or a USC and UCLA.

Exactly four SEC stadiums seat 100k, which is a tad fewer than all.
And if they all have better atmospheres you must be a fan of Hitler/Nuremberg type rallies because A&M is one of them (Look it up, you may not studied WWII in Junior High).

The only school comparable to TCU is Vanderbilt and they seat about 8k fewer than AGC.
