Has anyone looked into air fare and schedule?

Looked last night and the average temp for CS during Sept is 74 with a low of 45

It's a 2:30 game time.

Wife's bestfriend is getting married on a sunday in California which I have to go to. At least I can watch it

AIR FARES ARE RUNNING $250 ROUND TRIP TO $350. Check both Colorado Springs and Denver. Denver is about 1 1/2 hour drive if you take the loop and tollway around Denver. Vail has the cheapest flights that time of year but is a long drive. There are frequent flights to Denver. One might want to check out The Inn of the Mountain Gods near the Broadmore for a reasonable place to stay.
