Didn't hurt Baylor last year.  They will keep doing it until they get left out solely due to the OOC schedule.  Interesting what insane excuse Briles comes up with then.   Looking forward to it.

Well, that's apples and oranges.  You have to compare Baylor's schedule to other top-25 teams, not UTSA.  Baylor is doing it for wins.  UTSA is doing it for money.

Had an Ugly Pug in San Marcos...worth a repeat.

My SIL is a UTSA grad and brought the OP to my attention...thought it worth a mention. Divergent risk/reward approach from different state of TX programs.

How about between these two:

Central Michigan, Central Arkansas, UTSA
or
South Dakota, UTSA, La Tech

We might have caught the flak for it (probably justly) but it's not just Baylor and the SEC playing non-P5 schools.

Ugh. Why aren't you on "ignore" yet?

Edit: nvm. Apologies to those who already ignored

OOC schedule does not matter.  The committee proved that.  We (or anybody else) are stupid if we play even one team OOC that can beat us if we want to make the playoff.

If the tournament consisted of the five conference champions, then OOC still wouldn't matter but you could play anybody and go 0-3 OOC.  But you could have three great games home and home that would help attendance and $$.

But as long as the CFP is still the BCS beauty contest, then we need to schedule Incarnate Word, Edna Gladney and Toby's.

It doesn't matter. At all. Period. All that matters is what the Committee subjectively thinks is right. End of discussion. Their criteria and metrics fluctuate during the season. Wins and losses is all that matters. You go perfect in the Big 12 and you're in. You lose a game, even a very close away game to a top ten opponent, and you may be out.
Go perfect and schedule whoever the hell you want.
Lose a game to anyone and you roll the dice.
