There is also one other factor roddog overlooks, when you are a top 20 program there are only 19 other teams you could play not 20. Also using Roddg logic anytime TCU played TT in the last 5-10 years TCU's SOS took a hit. Playing Tech this year will lower TCU's SOS. :eek:hmy:

Yeah I went and checked and Sagarin is wrong. You guys beat Whisky and Boise and they were both final top 10. Not going to apologize for the mistake as Sagarin's numbers are used in the BCS formula and are supposed to be accurate, but apparently they are not, but I do concur that his numbers are wrong.

that they have played more that 4, maybe even 3, or even 2 games in a row vs legitimate top 20 teams, just curios!

When was the last time you made 4 posts, maybe even 3, or even 2 posts in a row in which you didn't butcher the english language. Just curious.

To answer your question, I'm not sure and don't care.

Roddog still hasn't gotten over TCU keeping TT out of the Cotton Bowl the ONLY time TT was within snifin distance of a SWC football Championship. All TT had to do was beat poor old TCU in the final game of the season and TT would have gone to their first and only Cotton Bowl as a conference champion. Friday day game, day after thanksgiving, National TV audience and TT CHOKES..............

Well, actually Tech did get to go to the Cotton Bowl for the only time in their SWC tenure that year, as a five-team co-champion, but they probably wish they hadn't. It was brutal.

Rod, I think you'd be surprised if you actually looked at the data, at least in the last 4 years. First off, let's normalize this by only looking at other top 20 teams. Since you can't play yourself, it is unfair to look at how many times a team like Tech plays a top 20 team versus a yearly top 20 team like like OU. When OU plays Tech, Tech gets a game against a top 20 foe, but OU doesn't. Only looking at top 20 teams takes that variable away. Also, anyone can play a bunch of top 20 teams and lose. We really want to know how teams that are good perform.

2008- we played 3 games against top 20 teams, 11th most of any of the other top 20 teams: http://www.cfbtrivia...&allop=1&cres=1 , (one less than Tech that year)

2009- we played 3 games against top 20 teams, 8th most of any of the other top 20 teams: http://www.cfbtrivia...&allop=1&cres=1 , and more than any Big 12 top 20 team.

2011- we played 2 games against top 20 teams, 13th best of the other top 20 teams: http://www.cfbtrivia...&allop=1&cres=1

From 2008-2011, we played 9 games against top 20 teams, good for the eighth most of the top 20 teams during that period:

Now in that analysis we benefit from being top 20 all four years, but even if you take away the normalization step of only looking at top 20, we've played 9 top 20 games, the same as FSU, ND, UNC. Tech only has 14, FWIW. WVU and Cincy combined have 11:

TCU's success the last 4 years was had against similar top 20 competition as most top 20 squads and was not smoke and mirrors of playing in the MWC.

It doesn't change the fact that we're there now. Try not to get too butthurt when Doege files a restraining order against Maponga, after he dry humps him up and down the field for 4 quarters.

Can't wait for your excuses in October.

why would maponga be on the field 4 quarters, i just read you guys will be resting your starters after halfime :eek:hmy:

Just a reminder: the score in the picture that Roddog posted was 12-3, TCU.

Roddog logic: We had 15,000 fans there; that means we win, right?
