That’s what you want in a basketball arena. Steep seating sections provide an intimate setting where fans feel on top of the action. This also heightens cheering volume. Players and fans love both those aspects of a better seating pitch.

Sitting at mid court in the top back section at Schollmaier you feel too far from the court for a 6700 seat arena. The pitch is not ideal.

Houston too rid their circular shallow slope seating and stacked it on the court through a renovation. Their arena was bigger so they had space to do that and still have a reasonable number of seats.
