We all remember this genuine moment, back in 2015, shared between TCU Quarterback, Trevone Boykin, and 7-year-old, Iowa Stater, Abby Faber. And now, both programs and fans will forever be united because of the love they share for this sweet little girl.
We are looking forward to seeing Abby and the Faber family this week in Ames and will share more pics and stories following the trip to Ames. Until please enjoy the following update and pics of Abby throughout the TCU/Iowa State years... Feel free to say "Hi" in this thread and share your memories. The Fabers are KillerFrogs members.
Abby is 10, counting down the days to her golden birthday 11 on October 11. She is in 5th grade at Roland-Story Middle School. The Faber’s made a move from Ankeny to Story City, IA (just about 15 miles north of Ames) in June 2019.
Abby continues physical therapy at Blank Children's Pediatric Therapy. With two orthopedic surgeries in just over two years, she continues to work on strengthening her muscles. She's also grown enough to pick out a shiny new purple walker. (Don't worry her wheelchair is red/yellow for the Cyclones ).
Through the group Team Run Free (http://www.teamrunfree.org/), Abby has a new love of running 5K's and will compete in her second half marathon later this month in Des Moines. Team Run Free pairs those with a love for running with those who can not run these races on their own. They also provide adaptive running carts. Abby also loves therapeutic horseback riding (when Mom & Dad can get her there). She's also been involved with dance and Miracle League (www.miracleleague.com).
