The next step for TCU WR Quentin Johnston? Putting the 'upside' word behind him

Quentin Johnston heard the smack talk coming from Oklahoma cornerback Joshua Eaton. He just didn’t have any breath to waste. The Horned Frogs were in hurry-up offense attempting a fourth-quarter comeback, and Johnston knew he was the target of the defense on an afternoon in which he already had 160 yards and two scores.
Johnston fought off Eaton at the line of scrimmage and began what he thought would be a dummy route. Half a beat later he got the signal from quarterback Max Duggan; the ball was coming to him. Johnston and Eaton leaped at the same time, both launching vertically on the goal line. Eaton grabbed the ball first. Sooner players around him yelled: “Pick!”
But Johnston had to attack the ball. It’s what TCU wide receivers coach Malcolm Kelly talks with him about most. You’re 6-foot-4 with a 38-inch vertical. Use it. Johnston did. As Eaton fell, Johnston was still going up. So, he grabbed the ball and ripped it from Eaton’s hands.
