OUCH!!!
Was just telling my son how dumb it was to walk Betts and put the winning run on 2nd base. I don't care how hurt Freddie's been. That has to be one of the dumbest managerial moves I've ever seen. Booneheaded move.
The dude had a laser shot down the line that turned into a triple in his first atbat tonight. A triple, after being benched in the NLCS because of how bad his ankle is.

I would have took my chances with mookie too.

Freddie Freeman is a former mvp and a world series champ. Should be a Hall of famer too. And they disrespected him by intentionally walking Mookie to get to him and he made their ass pay.

Thing is, with Mookie, a baseline only ties the game. MAYBE you do it with one out but not with two.

Incredible game. Incredible moment in baseball history.

Actually Verdugo went out of play making the catch on Ohtani, so both runners advanced.

You can quibble with choosing to pitch to Freeman over Betts but it also loaded the bases to put a force everywhere.

OK, that's what I thought but the Fox graphic never changed, Davis and Smoltz never said anything, and they didn't show a runner at 3rd until Mookie was walked. That makes more sense and Boone's move was justified. Just another reason how Davis and Smoltz are horrible.

Are you sure? Even though he went out of play, he made the catch in foul territory. I know the runners can still tag up but why would they be allowed to advance automatically? Like Phormer said, the Fox graphic never showed runners on second and third.

If he goes out of play it's an automatic.

It was poorly called out by the broadcast crew (and even the runners didn't immediately advance) but yes.

Yankees fans chanting "scheiss you Freddie", coming thru loud and clear on tv and then Freddie hits a 2 run homer lmfao. I can't wait to hear what they say in his next atbat lol.
