^^^ This smells like rancid sushi left out in a dumpster on Venice Beach for a month. We're supposed to believe that Ohtani wired a total of $4.5M to an illegal bookie "to cover his friend/interpreter's gambling debts," but Ohtani is not suspected of any wrongdoing? The Dodgers say he's the victim of theft? Hmmmmmmm.

Seems if his interpreter is worth less than 4.5 million then that would put suspicion on those being Ohtani’s bets.

Since the story has changed to theft instead of Ohtani sending the money himself suggests that Ohtani would be in legal trouble wiring money to an illegal bookie, explaining that change in story

^^^1000%. The interpreter makes half a mil at most. Nice gig if you can get it. But yeah, no way a bookie in his right mind would give him that much credit. Ohtani must've been involved.

MLB, under the "leadership" of the crapulent Rob Manfred, is joining the NFL in debasing the game for the sole purpose of increasing their viewership. Apparently they believe that more scoring equals more viewers, so they are destroying defensive elements of the game to encourage more runs being scored.

It was this that led me to check out of the NFL. I pretty much checked out of MLB last season, and this will probably bury it.

Next up: College Football!

That Ohtani situation is crazy. The interpreter told the story as tho Ohtani was there clicking the buttons to xfer the funds. Then the very next morning, the story changed to now say that ohtani had no understanding of the betting and then Shohai‘s camp coming out immediately after that with the massive theft claim.

the feds already know that the bookie was using Ohtanis name in conversations as someone he knew and spoke with.

if the MLB has ANY sense of consistency, Ohtani should be suspended pending the investigation happening. But they would NEVER jeopardize that top tier product in a Dodgers uniform.
