Baylor is Trash.
Jimbro now has the distinction of being the first aggy coach to lose 4 in a row since waaaaaay back in the days of the Fran.

very interesting 3 game stretch for the ags with 2 very winnable games leaving them with just the lsu game to become bowl eligible

A more profoundly true statement has probably been typed on this board, but I can't think of what it might be. "Expectations" at UTx is winning the conference and being on track for the championship tournament. "Near expectations" is making the conference championship game, making a non-tournament NY6 bowl game, and claiming they were screwed not to be in the 4-team tournament.

The kind of record UTx is posting this year means the entire coaching staff, or at least any that purchased housing instead of renting, needs to hope the Austin real estate market doesn't have a cyclical downturn soon. Even if they win out including a bowl game, UTx is not successful enough for some of their fans including non-peanut gallery folks whose opinions actually matter.

If they have any embarrassing losses** in any remaining games including the bowl game, it'll get stinky around here.

** big score spread; although just about any loss embarrasses some of those peeps.

Austin real estate has every box checked for big correction.

Speculation
Mortgage rates doubling
70% decline in tech stock prices
VC world down 80% but still don’t realize it
Massive layoffs in tech sector just starting
Slowing transplant trend removes marginal buyer
Overbuilt with hopes growth trends (pricing) would last forever
Rental income that no longer keeps up with mortgage payments
Economy in recession

At this point, I am not sure an Aggy game can be considered "very winnable"

actually foresee them rolling umass and auburn is a bigger [ clusterfarg ] than the ags which is the perfect setup

seriously, paul feig may steal this idea and use it in his [ Finebaum ]ty gender reversal rewrite of the junction boys

ags down and out and on the edge go to auburn and squeak out a win, they come back and roll umass leaving bowl eligibility and the chance to spring board the program forward under jimbo

just picture, final game at home and we know it is a top tier stadium full of top tier fans, people just don't walk in there and go home with a win, add in that it is a maroon out, AND the can ruin any hope for the cfp for their biggest sec rival in lsu only to get destroyed

LOL The Aggies have only managed one double digit win season (2012) since leaving the B12 a decade ago, whereas we've had three and currently one win away from a fourth. The highest they've been ranked at the end of the season since the 1930's has been 4th (2020... thanks COVID), where TCU got to #2 in 2010 and #3 in 2014 and they've only finished in the top 10 six times since the mid 1980's where we've been ranked in the top 10 six times this century.

Aggies are a sad delusional cult.

Was I supposed to type something here?

No living British Monarch has seen them win more than 2 games...

the infamous 12th man never actually played a down, merely stood on the sideline, so one of "the most storied traditions" in college football is centered around someone who never played a down and made no real contribution to the game

Actually, do you remember when the Aggy kickoff coverage team was all 12th man wannabees?

Actually, do you remember when the Aggy kickoff coverage team was all 12th man wannabees?

that was a group of walk on's inspired by a myth

those guys played more than the their namesake and i really can't think of any more aggie than that

play golf a couple of times a month with two horns and an aggie. one of the horns started getting on the ag about the 12th man mystique and the ag fires back that texas has no one who ever showed that much courage of conviction

one of the horns simply agreed and said something to the effect that [ muschi ] steinmark had the audacity to use crutch on the texas sideline after they cut off his leg because of cancer

the ag was pretty quiet the rest of the round
