Official Coaching Search Thread….

Everyone would be very impressed with the coaches we called who declined to participate in the process… this is, in large part, what the search firm helps with (along with background checks and the like). We knocked on every conceivable door.

Related: Every fan overstates the value and contribution of the search firm. They are essentially worker bees, not at all like the hired banker or big 4 consultant y’all make them out to be, where you almost pay for them to make the decision.

sure we used the right guys?

How many of next year's games has Sonny already lost?

50%, that's what his history will tell you.

He will win one out of every five against ranked teams, will be below .500 against teams with winning records, and will beat the teams with losing records.

Wash, rinse, repeat

Are they not the least bit concerned they settled on a career .500 coach (over 130 games), who is 5-22 against top 25 teams, has a losing record against teams over .500, has one conference championship to his name a decade ago, and consistently fields defenses rankled in the bottom 25% of all D1 programs?

Not trying to flame, those are the numbers, and it's a legit question. I'm just wondering what the mindset was inside the "bunker" when they decided to go this route?
