I think Ted Cruz going to Cancun is horrible optics, but I do not see why the left is calling him a hypocrite. It's not like he advocated for laws to force people to stay in Texas.

Hypocrite would be advocating for laws/rules for others, but not applying them to himself.

Hypocrite is Nancy Pelosi getting a haircut when ordering San Francisco locked down, or Gavin Newsom going to a fancy french restaurant while not allowing restaurants to open in CA.

Also, Ted Cruz is a senator, he has nothing to do with Texas policy.

I am not a fan of Ted Cruz, but he is the lightning rod from media and democrat political attacks right now to distract from their own failures i.e. Andrew Cuomo in New York or the fact the Biden admin has no plan regarding COVID.

This just proves my belief that there are plenty of dumbasses on both the left and the right.

Cruz’s decision to take a vacation & then lie about it when he is busted is proof he is a huge moron who should quit. He really said he was taking a 1-day flight to escort his family to Cancun after his wife texted her friends to come down & join them to get out of the freezing weather for a week is hilariously sad.

And he asked for police help to get to his flight? I am sure there were not more important things for them to do that day.

And now you are pointing fingers at the democrats & saying this is their fault? Simply awesome. Why do you think the lefties are throwing so much [ Finebaum ] at Cruz? Because he enjoys throwing shade at them, too. Remember his tweets about California’s energy woes? They do and he was so flustered that he left the country like a gutless coward. I agree with your entire post but this. California will have energy issues every single year. It took a 30 year storm plus massive migration/population increase into Texas to cause what just happened. Still an idiotic look from Cruz, but his comments on California aren't incorrect. Sounds like you prefer people who are "decent" and "statesman" who carry out sadistic policies and practices behind the scenes, rather than politicians who actually get things done and put Americans first, but may be a bit rough around the edges in terms of presentation. In other words, you want to see style, not substance, from politicians.
