FORT WORTH--TCU returns to the court Monday evening, when it plays host to in-state foe Austin College in the second half of a Horned Frog men’s-women’s doubleheader at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The men’s contest is scheduled to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Frog women’s game, which is set for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Monday’s contest will be the first between the Frogs and Austin College since 1968. TCU owns a 13-5 record in the all-time series against the current NCAA Division III member and has won 10 straight dating back to the Kangaroos’ last win on Dec. 31, 1948. While the game will officially count toward TCU’s season record, it will be regarded as an exhibition for the ‘Roos.

TCU looks to run its season record to 2-0 for the third straight year after holding on for a 73-72 victory over Florida Gulf Coast in the season opener last Friday. The game saw the Frogs lead from start to finish, and by as many as 16 points in the second half, before the Eagles produced a late rally.

Monday’s game wraps up TCU’s season-opening homestand and will mark its final home appearance until Nov. 30. The squad leaves Wednesday for the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, where it will play three games in four days Friday through Monday. The Frogs open with a 5 p.m. CT Friday matchup against Virginia.

TCU’s matchup against Austin College can be heard live on the radio throughout the Metroplex on both 1460 AM KCLE and 88.7 FM KTCU with Brian Estridge (play-by-play) and John Denton (analyst) serving as the play-by-play man. Live stats and a link to an Internet radio feed will be available via TCU’s official athletics website, GoFrogs.com.

STRONG DEBUTS
Half of the players who saw the court during TCU’s Nov. 11 win over Florida Gulf Coast made their Frog debuts: Kyan Anderson, Nate Butler, Connell Crossland, Adrick McKinney and Craig Williams.

* Butler and McKinney earned starts in their first TCU games.

* McKinney scored 10 points in his debut despite playing only 19 minutes due to early foul trouble. Butler totaled seven points.

* Anderson, the lone freshman on this year’s team, saw significant action, totaling four assists and two steals in 17 minutes.

TENACIOUS D
TCU showed off its athleticism on the defensive end of its season opener against FGCU, using pressure to force 29 Eagle miscues that led to a 30-18 advantage in points off turnovers.

* The turnover total marked the most in Jim Christian’s tenure as head coach and the most for the Frogs overall since Grambling State committed 30 on Nov. 24, 2006.

* FGCU had 19 turnovers at halftime. The most the Frogs forced in any game a year ago was 19 (three times).

* Despite the success in creating turnovers, the Frogs showed that they still have much work to do on defense, as the Eagles shot a sizzling 61.4% from the field for the game.

CADOT PICKS UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
J.R. Cadot provided TCU with an aggressive edge around the basket from his guard spot in his first season on campus last year. The Bahamas native finished last season on a roll and has picked right back up where he left off early this season.

* Cadot led TCU with 16 points in the season opener, the eighth time in the last nine contests dating back to last season he has scored at least 12 points.

* Cadot is averaging 12.3 ppg in the stretch with 111 total points.

* Cadot led TCU last season in both overall field-goal percentage (65.9%) and rebounding (6.0 rpg). He ranked sixth in the MW in boards and third in offensive rebounds (2.5 rpg).

* His final field-goal rate ranked No. 2 in TCU single-season history among players with at least 150 attempts.

* Cadot went 7-of-9 from the field in the season opener and is now 65-of-86 (75.6%) in his career playing at the DMC.

* Cadot also led TCU with seven rebounds. He paced the squad a team-high 13 times in 2010-11.
