Does Max start against Kansas?

Starts against Kansas since it’ll be a similar setup. When he’s not asked to do much - it’s fine.

Don’t think he finishes the season as starter after we face better defenses
Big 12 top offense? Caleb Williams and Riley left - comment is not valid

Gabriel lost to Tulsa in 2020 and that was his last full season. OU is incredibly weak at WR - there’s Mims and not much else

TCU DBs did not cause majority of drops - they were overthrown or bad drops by receiveds
~250 of duggan’s yards came from blown coverage per ESPN - nobody covering WR, etc. - even ESPN labeled one video “OU forgets about WR”

Agree, but some of that was also because of the scheme. One throw because safety bit on the RB’s route and let a slot receiver run right by him. But Max had to read it and get him the ball and he did.

That’s the point of this defense as I understand it. The idea is to force the opponent to make play after play to sustain a drive; to force the opponent to make the right call, to have every person in the right spot, to have the QB make the correct decision and to force skill players to make the catch or the cut. So while every incomplete pass was not the product of a stellar defensive play, many were arguably a product of the defensive strategy

Yes but when SD was coaching SMU they repeatedly had players running free vs TCU in a scheme created by a pretty good defensive coach. When an event happens repeatedly, an objective mind has to consider design.

don't care about the [ deposit from a bull that looks like Art Briles ] numbes from espn in part because the math doesn't work out when you look at the actual stats and then the claim that 250+ of 302 yards came from blown coverages, but more importantly that ideally completely ignores what others have pointed out and that is scheme and route concepts are developed actually trying to create such opportunities

scheiss espn and ticketfrog if they choose to believe what happened saturday was a byproduct of the ou's failuare moreso than tcu's preparation, scheme, and execution

damn well guarantee you it has caught the attention of the staff in lawrence and other parts of the big 12
