The most impressive thing is that it's March 7th.

Get him in the heat in Arlington in June, and his FB will touch 98. You'll see some Ryan-esque strikeout totals some games. Some of those, the batters won't take the bats off their shoulders, trying to get his pitch counts up.

If he can manage to keep the FB on the corners, he'll be as close to unhittable as they come. As inscrutable as he appears to be it wouldn't surprise me if he throws a fat one over now and then, just to tease. It's like watching a cat play with a dead mouse.

Some of the first Ranger games I watched in person were with Ferguson Jenkins. Also saw Ryan a lot and that headcase who went to the Dodgers, forget his name.

Away from the poker tables, those are the only ones you could think of calling aces.

This guy looks like the real deal.

A very good outing? He had a 75 percent success rate. For $112 million and some change, you'd expect a 90 to 100 percent success rate. 75 percent is mediocrity.
