Note: This section features the top 10 teams from this week's AP poll.

Number of benchmarks met: Boise State 6, Oregon 6, TCU 6, Alabama 5, Ohio State 5, Nebraska 5, Stanford 5, Utah 5, Auburn 4, Wisconsin 3.

What we learned: For the third straight week, only three teams meet all the benchmarks in the BCS title Eliminator: Boise State, Oregon and TCU. They're the teams that most closely resemble BCS champions of the past several years. Five teams are only missing one benchmark, including Alabama, Ohio State and Nebraska, which are all getting tripped up in the sacks per game category. Stanford's scoring D isn't up to snuff, and Utah is lacking in the turnover margin category. Meanwhile, Wisconsin is far off the pace with only three benchmarks met. Three teams not included in this week's top 10, Oklahoma, Missouri and Michigan State (four met benchmarks each), all look like pretenders at this point.

That brings us to Auburn, another team with only four benchmarks met. The Tigers are not only lacking in the sacks per game category, but their scoring defense does not meet the profile of past BCS champs. In fact, they're allowing more points per game than any other BCS title contender. It's not going to be easy for anybody to stop Auburn QB Cameron Newton, but Auburn's D could have trouble with Alabama in the Iron Bowl, South Carolina in a theoretical SEC title game, or the high-powered offenses of Boise State, Oregon and TCU in potential BCS championship game matchups. And with the Broncos, Ducks and Horned Frogs all among the nation's elite defensively, the Eliminator is selling Auburn as a legit BCS championship contender.

Game to watch: TCU Horned Frogs at Utah Utes. The Horned Frogs have the edge in the rankings and in the stats in this one, but the Utes will have home-field advantage and aren't exactly slouches themselves. Utah's Achilles' heel is in the turnover margin category, so how well the team can protect the ball and force the Horned Frogs into turnovers (TCU, meanwhile is 27th in the country in TO margin) could be key in this one.
